Focus on What You Have: The Art of Gratitude

“Happiness cannot be traveled to, owned, earned, worn or consumed. Happiness is the spiritual experience of living every minute with love, grace and gratitude.” -Denis Waitley

Hello all.
Lately I’ve been on a reflective state. I’ve thinking to myself why do good things continue to happen to me at a nice pace? The answer was found in my ability to express gratitude in the small things daily. Many things are working well. For instance, I also write articles for a website called Ehow.com, One of my Ehow aricles entitled: How to be automatically rich is getting rave reviews, a few people actually have stated that they printed out my article and are hanging it on their walls, as a reminder or affirmation to practice this daily habit of being automatically rich. I am grateful that my articles continue to make a positive difference in people’s lives.

Mastering the art of gratitude.

When we choose to focus on the things going right in our life, we raise our energy to a new level. This new level allows more of the good to flow in to our lives. When we aren’t grateful with what we already have we block out more good to flow in. This comes in terms of money, relationships, and creative insight. The truth is that there is a real danger of continual focusing on what is going wrong allows you to be reactive, v.s being proactive.

Reactive v.s Proactive
With a reactive focus you are stuck in a state of victimization. You begin to look at your circumstances and notice all the problems. With a proactive focus, you start from an empowered place. You begin to see what is going right and flow and notice the solutions. I believe that with the proactive focus, you are more in alignment with your true self.

Your True Self
Your true self is powerful, confident, and aligned with the universe. It knows when to take action, and when to detach and let things go. Your true self is more trusting and easy. It doesn’t require much physical effort, because it knows and trusts in the flow of the universe. This wisdom of understanding your true self will bring more awareness in your life.

When things don’t seem to be going as planned, focus on the good that is already there. As you begin to focus on the good, you will attract more good into your life because the simple small shift in focus changes your vibrational energy. This world is all comprised of energy. As we start to understand this, we will be more conscious of what we choose to place our attention to on a regular basis.

Practice Gratitude Daily

When I personally make an effort to practice gratitude daily, more good things begin to manifest in my life. Even if it feels hard to focus on what you already have, continue to do it. Make it a daily discipline to start to witness the good that is already in your life. From the small things in your life, and gradually to bigger things. No matter who you are, or what situation you think you are in, there is always something in your life to be grateful for. If there is nothing you can see, just simply be grateful for being alive. Express gratitude for simply being healthy and the ability to breathe air. Start small, and you will quickly begin to see all the wonderful things and experiences that are worthy of your gratitude. From this place of gratitude, you are empowered, you are coming from a place of abundance instead of lack.
You are tuning into your true empowered self. The art of gratitude seems very simple, and it is. Many people try to over complicate this idea, but it’s a simple tool that continues to work in my life, and will work in yours as well.

With Gratitude,
